Dr. A. Huisman is a postdoctoral researcher and teacher at the department of Clinical Psychology of the VU University Amsterdam and board member of the Yvonne van de Ven Foundation (improvement of suicide prevention and postvention in the Netherlands).
Her Phd thesis concerned the evaluation of the supervision procedure of suicides in mental health care patients by the Dutch Health Care Inspectorate. Subsequently, she has studied aspects of 113online, including an evaluation of the chat service and forum. Furthermore, she has developed a Dutch questionnaire measuring the severity of suicidal behavior and self-harm, the VOZZ (and VOZZ-SCREEN). She is currently researching the exclusion of suicidal participant from RCT’s. Annemiek’s research interests include family and significant others of suicidal individuals and the development and evaluation of innovative treatments for suicidal patients.
