Dr. Renske Gilissen (113 Zelfmoordpreventie)
Dr. R. (Renske) Gilissen is principal investigator of the SURE-Net consortium and head of the research department of 113 Suicide Prevention, the Dutch suicide prevention centre, where she currently supervises 15 researchers and research interns and is co-promotor of 4 PhD students. Gilissen is a biologist and her PhD thesis concerned physiological reactivity to fear in children: effects of temperament, attachment and the serotonin transporter gene (2008, Leiden University). After her PhD, she conducted diverse studies on suicide and suicide attempts. She is currently involved in various research projects on preventing and reducing suicide, ranging from epidemiological studies, big data, evaluations of Suicide Prevention Action Networks (SUPRANET), psychological autopsy studies, e-health and artificial intelligence.
